Pedestrian Simulation Study for Dubai Metro Stations

RMC was commissioned by Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) to develop pedestrian simulation model for a number of Dubai Metro Stations to assess the adequacy of station design and current facilities against the current and system capacity passenger demand.

Pedestrian simulation models were developed for normal operation, delayed train and evacuation scenarios simulating the movement of people through the station during peak of entry and peak of exit. The stations to be studied are: Marina Station, Union Station, Burjuman Station, Burj Khalifa Station, Deira City Center Station, Mall of the Emirates Station, and Rashidiya Station.
